Are you up for working in one of London’s most exciting planning units; shaping London’s growth through the new London Plan. Then come and join the GLA’s Planning Unit as a senior strategic planner.
You will be joining the team at a crucial time as we prepare for the upcoming Examination in Public.
You must have a good working knowledge of strategic planning issues and experience working with the following specialisms:
· Sustainable Design and Construction
· Infrastructure
· Air Quality
· Waste Management
You’ll need to be passionate about planning in London and have the skills to deal with complex strategic planning issues. You should have a degree/post graduate qualification in planning or equivalent with eligibility for RTPI membership and at least 5 years post qualification experience.
You will be expected to work closely with other teams across the Mayoral family. We are looking for a flexible and adaptable planner with a can-do attitude who is excited about the prospect of turning the Mayor’s vision into a detailed strategy for the future of London.
You will be expected to present reports to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor directly as well as representing the GLA at the Examination in Public, so you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working in a political environment. You will also need good negotiation skills and ability to work successfully with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
