The GLA is looking for two aspiring financial professionals to work in its internal finance unit, undertaking a wide range of finance related tasks in a support capacity.

Working to either the Chief Accountant or the Finance Manager (Corporate), the postholders will have some existing experience of finance related work and will be expected to:

·         Carry out accountancy tasks, including processing expenses claims, raising sales invoices and posting journals;

·         Provide support to the accountants in their role of providing financial advice and a budget monitoring service to GLA directorates; and

·         Handle enquiries from colleagues and undertake administrative duties.

You may be working towards becoming a member of a professional accountancy body and have some experience in the public or private sector gained in a similar role. This could be an opportunity for you to extend your experience in a challenging, high profile public body.

You will have some degree of political awareness and be adept at working with staff all levels of an organisation to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
