Events Manager

We’re helping to unlock the creative spirit of the Royal Docks. You’ll collaborate with the creative organisations that call the Royal Docks home to launch a world-class programme of events and activation, as well as attracting new organisations to join us. You’ll inspire our communities and visitors to make the most of the area’s assets — 12 miles of waterfront, diverse landscape, global connections — and help us make the Royal Docks an attractive place to visit and stay.

The opportunity

You’ll manage the development and delivery of an outstanding events programme that helps to position the Royal Docks as a unique cultural and commercial destination – locally, nationally and internationally. This will include project launches, cultural events, exhibitions, seminars and business conferences. Making the most of the area’s commercial and cultural offer, your goal will be to increase inward investment. Working as part of a small events team, one of your key responsibilities will be the planning and production of an annual programme of events, including budgeting proposals. You will also secure media coverage for the programme.

The person

You’ll bring significant experience of planning, delivering and evaluating large-scale public events, campaigns and initiatives. This should include dealing with a wide range of stakeholders in the public and private sectors. Experience of using IT systems to aid project management is essential. Possession of ISOH or a similar health and safety qualification would be an advantage, as would experience of delivering water-based events. Excellent organisational and communication skills will be key.

Application Process

Please apply using your CV and a two page (maximum) covering letter. It is important you provide evidence of your skills, knowledge and experience and information outlined in the person specification for the role. Short listing will be carried out on the information on your CV and covering letter.
