Community Organiser - Great Place Scheme (OPDC)

Passionate about helping people become more involved in shaping and improving their local area? Experienced in working with diverse groups to build capacity, confidence and new skills? This role would suit someone keen to explore how a world class arts programme could provide new ways of collaboration and participation in London’s most vibrant industrial area. This post will report to the Great Place Scheme Programme Manager.

OPDC has been awarded funding from Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England as part of their Great Place Scheme initiative, the goal of which is to ensure that art, culture and heritage are at the heart of the major developments planned for the area.

To achieve this, an ambitious 3-year cultural programme is being developed with local people, businesses and organisations, which will uncover, connect and showcase the culture, creativity and heritage of London’s largest industrial area, Park Royal.  This work also aims to shape and influence one of the UK’s largest regeneration projects at Old Oak.

We are looking for a Community Organiser to play a key role in the delivery of this world class, participatory programme. The role will be focused around engaging with local businesses (particularly drawing from the approx. 40,000 employees in the area) to ensure that people who work in Park Royal and Old Oak are able to contribute to, benefit from and participate in, the Great Place Scheme in a meaningful way.
