Planning Change Manager

The GLA Planning Unit is looking for an outward looking and inspiring manager, as its new Planning Change Manager on a full-time basis.

 

The ideal candidate’s experience will speak for itself. You will lead from the front, but also be a good team player that can work in collaboration and shape the outputs from the planning service.

 

The post holder will report directly to the AD Planning and be responsible for management of the Planning Unit’s technical support team. You will work in close collaboration with the Planning Unit’s Heads of Service and Deputy Mayors.

 

You will have experience managing the planning support team to ensure applications/ referrals and correspondence are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner and ensure that all applications are with officers in an appropriate form to enable their determination within statutory deadlines.

 

You will be a confident lead officer for projects relating to the Planning Unit’s media and transparency outputs and will work to further enhance the reputation of the GLA.

 

You will take the client lead in the identification and delivery of software and hardware for the planning service and will be responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing systems for change management, performance management, analysing service costs, fee setting, benchmarking and process improvements, and other service delivery and transformation initiatives relating to the functions of the GLA Planning Unit.

 

The post holder will manage a team that monitors and keeps budgetary control over the Planning Unit’s various forms of income in accordance with GLA financial code of practice and any audit recommendations. You will also produce monthly income and workload monitoring sheets that track financial transactions and HR matters.
