London Estates Delivery Unit Programme Director

Lead the transformation of London’s NHS estate, while supporting wider public sector goals, such as affordable housing

This is a unique opportunity to drive city-wide changes that will create a new future for London’s health and social care estate. The NHS is London’s largest landowner, with a combined estate around three times greater than Hyde Park. But with large areas currently not fit-for-purpose, the estate needs significant transformation. That is where an experienced leader of significant property and estates improvements, like yourself, comes in.

You will bring influential, strategic and collaborative leadership to the London Estates Delivery Unit (LEDU). The LEDU brings together regional and national resource to enrich local and NHS trust estate expertise, planning and delivery capability. Under your leadership, the LEDU will work closely with the London Estates Board and sub-regional estates boards. You will be the prime mover behind a London-wide capital and estates strategy, built on the foundations of local and sub-regional plans. The results you deliver will support a rapid and wide-ranging improvement in the health and well-being of 8.6 million Londoners.

Your portfolio will be broad and ambitious. It spans both health and care, and wider mixed-use development projects, plus surplus estate disposals. As well as supporting the maintenance and development of excellent health and care facilities across the capital, you will be instrumental in enabling wider public sector objectives including new affordable housing. With your guidance and direction, the LEDU will improve the pace, efficiency and outcomes of developments to local health economies.
