Business Support Officer

London has some of the world’s most advanced health and care facilities  but at the same time, many of our health and care buildings are in need of repair or are no longer fit for purpose.  The  London Health and Care Estates Strategy  details how partnership working, supported by the London Estates Delivery Unit,  can transform and improve the quality of the facilities in which Londoners access health care services and identify opportunities to build the homes Londoners need. The LEDU is made up of a body of estates and associated organisations operating as a single unit through in-house and partner arrangements hosted by the GLA and jointly funded with London partners. The LEDU aims to support the five London Strategic Transformation Partnerships (STP’s) to deliver their respective strategic estate priorities, by providing access to expert resource at the appropriate time and also a point of escalation to resolve issues at pace.

The Business Support Officer will provide administrative support to the London Estates Delivery Unit’s core and virtual teams as well as assisting the Business Manager to achieve our corporate objectives and upholding and implementing good  governance processes.

The opportunity

Put your administrative or secretarial skills to good use, helping to transform London’s health care estates. You’ll be the first point of contact for the wider LEDU team and stakeholders, handling enquiries and dealing with correspondence. You’ll also manage diaries and schedules, make travel arrangements and take minutes at meetings. Through supporting the team, there will be opportunities for you to gain a wide understanding of the health care system and estates.

The person

This is a great step up for someone with experience of supporting a busy team in an administrative or secretarial role. You will need good knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, including the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and to act as IT champion for the team. Good written and spoken English is essential, as is numeracy. You’ll be ready to work to tight deadlines in a fast-moving and politically sensitive environment.
