Housing Policy Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced housing professional to take a key role in the GLA’s Housing and Land Directorate.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated person who can:


  • oversee and lead on the provision of expert advice and guidance to the Mayor’s Office, the Housing & Land Directorate and other parts of the GLA on housing policy issue
  • undertake policy development and research to support the Mayor in delivering his housing priorities
  • manage a small team of Senior Policy Officers and Policy Officers, and
  • work with a wide range of partners, including central and local government, statutory bodies, developers and housing providers to deliver the Mayor’s London Housing Strategy.

 

We are looking for an individual with broad and extensive professional experience and knowledge of current housing issues and policy. Ideally this will include experience and knowledge of policy relating to housing delivery, the land market, and the planning system.

 

You will have excellent knowledge of the stakeholders and relationships that are key to the development and delivery of strategic housing policies in London and a track record of successfully managing and leading a team. You will also have excellent written and oral communication skills, a well-informed and creative approach to problem solving, and the ability to operate in a busy and complex political environment.
