An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join the GLA, leading on the management and monitoring of a range of rough sleeping services and assisting with the procurement of services. The purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of the Mayor’s rough sleeping commissioning framework and to meet the Mayor’s aims that no one will live on the streets of London and no-one arriving on the streets will sleep out for a second night.
The GLA commissions a range of rough sleeping services (to a value of around £10 million a year). You will be responsible for managing and monitoring providers’ performance against contractual obligations and expected outcomes, taking ownership of operational and strategic issues. As part of this, you may have to tackle poor performance, working collaboratively with providers to produce action plans to ensure delivery within contract specification. A key aspect of the role is managing and monitoring the budgets of contracted and grant-funded services.
Experience of contract monitoring for homelessness or other social care services is vital, as is an understanding of procurement processes. You will have a good track record of building and maintaining relationships and, in particular, a sound knowledge of issues around supplier relationship management. You will also have excellent organisational, project planning and problem solving skills.
