Project Monitoring Officer (Regeneration – Delivery Unit)

The Delivery Unit in the GLA’s Regeneration team commissions and manages projects that support the Mayor’s objectives of creating jobs for Londoners, helping Londoners gain the skills and experience they need to compete in London’s competitive labour market, and helping businesses to grow.

We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join the Unit’s small team leading on development, procurement and delivery of the GLA’s £25m European Social Fund (ESF) Co-Financing Programme.

You will be working in a matrix environment, supporting the three ESF managers and other ESF team members to deliver a complex and varied portfolio of projects encompassing support to unemployed and disadvantaged Londoners, as well as employers, schools, colleges and independent training providers.

You’ll be an effective team member, used to collaborating to achieve shared goals. You’ll possess excellent communication and influencing skills and be comfortable having ownership and accountability for the tasks assigned to you.

Organised and structured in your approach, with excellent attention to detail, report-writing and IT skills, you’ll be accomplished at delivering work on time and to a high standard. You’ll also be effective at managing, analysing and interpreting electronic and paper-based records and data, identifying issues and proposing workable solutions.

You’ll be able to demonstrate experience of end-to-end project management and control processes from development, procurement and contracting through to evaluation and contract completion, and a thorough understanding of ESF requirements in relation to eligibility and compliance.

You will work with a large and diverse number of internal and external stakeholders, from delivery partners to senior managers, helping to ensure that the Delivery Unit’s projects deliver their objectives on time, to budget, and to the highest possible quality.

The post is fixed term, until 31 August 2018. The post will form part of a job share so the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with their job share partner to ensure thorough handovers. Working days are open to negotiation.
