Policy and Projects Officer (Equality and Fairness)

The GLA’s Communities and Social Policy Unit is recruiting a Policy and Projects Officer to work in its Equality and Fairness team. The team is delivering a programme of work on poverty and supporting low-income Londoners, as well as implementing the Mayor’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.

We are looking for someone to help ensure our policy making and project delivery is informed by a thorough understanding of the nature of poverty and inequality in London, and that it responds to – and shapes – the latest policy developments. You will have knowledge of and experience of working on social policy issues; the ability to communicate complex and sensitive issues clearly and concisely; the ability to brief decision makers; and experience of working with both quantitative and qualitative information.

As well as those with specific experience of working on policy issues relating to poverty and economic fairness, we are particularly keen to encourage applications from candidates with expertise on gender equality or experience of working with stakeholders representing specific equalities groups.

You will work closely with the GLA’s Intelligence Unit, the other teams in the Communities and Social Policy Unit and teams across the GLA.
