Policy and Projects Officer, Social Integration

We are recruiting a Policy and Project Officer to join the Social Integration Team in the Communities and Social Policy Unit – a hardworking and friendly team that’s passionate about London’s communities.

Social integration is one of the Mayor’s top priorities. He also describes it as one of the 21st Century’s greatest challenges.

Earlier this year, our Team launched the Mayor’s Strategy for Social Integration, which sets out how City Hall will help Londoners to meaningfully connect with each other. It will support them to play an active part in their communities and the decisions that affect them. It involves reducing barriers and inequalities, so that people can relate to each other as equals. The strategy is available here: https://www.london.gov.uk/what-we-do/communities/all-us-mayors-strategy-social-integration

Our Team is responsible for delivering a number of flagship initiatives with social integration at their heart. We also support other Units to embed social integration in their work – for example in culture, planning, housing, and education and youth.

The new Policy and Project Officer will coordinate the delivery of key social integration initiatives and work with other Units in City Hall to support them to apply social integration principles.

The ideal candidate will have experience of implementing policy or managing projects, an interest in working across a range of social policy issue and clear, effective communication skills.
