Lead the OPDC’s Great Place Programme and help shape the future of Old Oak.
We have a fantastic opportunity for talented individual to join our team on a temporary contract covering a period of maternity leave.
This is your chance to help shape London’s largest regeneration project as part of the Mayor of London’s Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC). You will be responsible for overseeing the continued development and delivery of the Great Place Scheme. In 2017, OPDC secured £1,489,200 from the Great Place Scheme, funded by The Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England. This funding is for a world class participatory programme running for 3 years from 2018 that will uncover, connect and showcase the culture, creativity and heritage of Park Royal and help shape the future of Old Oak. The programme began officially in January 2018, and following a six-month pilot phase, we will be launching a series of high profile cultural projects in September 2018 including a major art commission, a grants scheme and a project celebrating iconic products made in the area.
Leading the Great Place Scheme programme for this period of maternity cover, will involve working closely with our Creative Programming Partner, Create London, to oversee and further develop this exemplary programme of cultural, heritage and regeneration projects that realise our ambitious place making vision, while maintaining a steady consistency to the running of project as it enters its next phase. You will come to us with a proven track record of developing and managing high quality cultural / engagement / regeneration / design projects in a complex environment. You will have experience of working with or alongside the public sector in delivering similar projects which build on an area’s unique assets and have confidence and be able to demonstrate an ability to working with existing communities and businesses to achieve this.
Working within the Design Team you will be responsible for ensuring the programme achieves the highest quality. You will also be working closely with the Communications and Engagement Team who are building relationships with local residents, businesses and strategic stakeholders, and the Park Royal Programme Manager who is developing a strategic plan for the Park Royal Industrial Estate.
