Joining the Mayor’s Office as a Research Officer, you will take a key role in reaching out to and communicating with Londoners, monitoring social media channels and supporting the responses we make in relation to any issues affecting GLA and the Mayoral Office. Working with the digital communications team, you will coordinate responses, getting relevant information and comments signed off and distributed. This role also incorporates the evolving challenge of conducting research on all manner of topics relating to life in London, and producing a broad spectrum of communication material such as online content, editorials, statements and so forth.

 

To excel in this multi-layered role, your understanding of London government will be matched by your fantastic writing skills. With experience of working in a high-pressured environment, you will have the confidence to deal with sensitive information and senior stakeholders. Most importantly, you will have an extensive grasp of social media (including emerging trends), with a solid knowledge of how to use these channels to the best advantage. You will also have fantastic IT and communication skills, with the ability to develop a rapport with a diverse group of people. Able to manage your own priorities and juggle a multitude of projects, you will be an essential part of this fast-paced team.
