Where administrative skills build homes

The housing crisis is one of the greatest challenges facing the capital – and the Mayor of London has ambitious plans to tackle it. The Greater London Authority (GLA) is working hard to make genuinely affordable homes a reality for more people. The scale of the challenge is huge, but so is our commitment. Together we can build a London for everyone.

The opportunity

Put your administrative or secretarial skills to good use, helping to create jobs and homes across London. You’ll be the first point of contact for our Land and Development team, handling enquiries and dealing with correspondence. You’ll also manage diaries and schedules, make travel arrangements and take minutes at meetings. There’s the chance to develop insights into project management as you will be providing vital support to the team on a range of land and development programmes.

The person

This is a great step up for someone with experience of supporting a busy team in an administrative or secretarial role. You’ll need good knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, including the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and to act as IT team champion. Good written and spoken English is essential, as is numeracy. You’ll be ready to work to tight deadlines in a fast-moving and politically sensitive environment
