Administration Officer - Scrutiny Team, London Assembly

Are you interested in working in an administrative role, supporting a dynamic and fast-paced research team?

The Scrutiny team for the London Assembly undertakes research for 25 Assembly Members from across the political spectrum to hold the Mayor to account and investigate issues of importance to Londoners.

As Administrative Officer for the team, you will be providing diary management and administrative support for the Assistant Director for Scrutiny and Investigation. This will include all the traditional duties such as managing diaries, arranging meetings, taking minutes and responding to a wide range of correspondence and requests for information. 

You will also be responsible for providing a range of support tasks for the team, such as raising purchase orders and processing invoices, handling incoming and outgoing post, establishing and maintaining spreadsheets and organising systems to support the team’s work.

You will need excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, from within the Scrutiny team, as well as other teams supporting the London Assembly.  You will need to have strong teamwork stills, good attention to details, and the ability to work flexibly as you respond to real time issues.

This job is ‘politically restricted’ under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
