Build new homes as you build your skills

The housing crisis is one of the greatest challenges facing the capital – and the Mayor of London has ambitious plans to tackle it. The Greater London Authority (GLA) is working hard to make genuinely affordable homes a reality for more people. The scale of the challenge is huge, but so is our commitment. Together we can build a London for everyone.

The opportunity

This is an opportunity to develop your knowledge of strategic development projects while helping to create new homes across London. You’ll provide a wide range of technical advice on property and development, including procurement, planning and design. You will also assist with the appraisal of project proposals, prepare reports for approval, and assist with negotiations for the acquisition and disposal of GLA assets.

The person

You will need a relevant professional qualification (RICS or equivalent) and experience of development projects including appraisals, planning and project finance. Experience of contract management in the property sector is important, as is an understanding of London housing and regeneration issues. Good communication skills and the ability to negotiate within complex environments are both essential.

Application Process

Please apply using your CV and a two page (maximum) covering letter. It is important you provide evidence of your skills, knowledge and experience and information outlined in the person specification for the role. Short listing will be carried out on the information on your CV and covering letter.
