The Mayor of London proposes to publish a new London Plan for public consultation in November 2017. At the same time, he will be consulting on the Draft Charging Schedule for the next round of the Mayor’s Community Infrastructure Levy (MCIL2).
We need to recruit a Secretary to manage the joint Examination in Public (EiP) into the Draft London Plan and the MCIL2 DCS, conducted by an independent inspector. This is your opportunity to play a key role in supporting this process. You will provide comprehensive support to the inspector and plan for and manage the EiP which is expected to be held between September – December 2018.
You will know how the planning system and the community infrastructure levy operates in London; understand the capital’s key planning issues; have exceptional organisational, decision-making and problem-solving skills; possess excellent communication skills; and be able to understand and respond to EiP participants’ needs and expectations. You will also have a high level of expertise in office IT systems and web content management.
You'll be based at London’s City Hall, near Tower Bridge, but also working remotely for much of the time. The post is for a fixed term. Candidates must not have had any direct involvement in preparing the London Plan. However, candidates previously employed as London Plan EiP staff are eligible for this post.
