Project Manager - Public Land

Turning land into homes

The housing crisis is one of the greatest challenges facing the capital – and the Mayor of London has ambitious plans to tackle it. The Greater London Authority (GLA) is working hard to make genuinely affordable homes a reality for more people. The scale of the challenge is huge, but so is our commitment. Together we can build a London for everyone.

The opportunity

By providing specialist technical development support, you’ll help public sector landowners to release land and bring forward residential developments. This may include advising on development viability, land assembly strategy, land acquisition and disposal, and design or town planning. You will identify project proposals that meet Mayoral objectives for new homes, economic development and regeneration, and work with various partners to make them happen.

The person

With significant regeneration or development experience and a relevant professional qualification, you’ll have a sound understanding of technical issues such as procurement, design, project finance, planning, and legal agreements for development transactions. You will also have experience of structuring development agreements and joint ventures. You’ll be ready to lead complex projects with multiple, politically sensitive stakeholder groups. While demonstrating good commercial awareness, you’ll have insights into the economic, financial and organisational complexities of the public sector.
