Senior Project Officer (Hong Kong Integration Coordinator)

We are recruiting to two roles to lead on London’s approach to co-ordinating city-wide support and services to meet the needs of London’s Hong Kong communities. This will include ensuring new arrivals have access to advice and support services to help them access employment, housing and education in the city.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project officer to co-ordinate a London-wide approach to the welcome and integration of new arrivals from Hong Kong. The post holder will oversee funding to establish welcome and social integration support services and build a network of organisations working to support London’s Hong Kong communities.

 

The successful candidate will have an understanding of the British Hong Kong diaspora in London and knowledge of the Hong Kong British Nationals (Overseas) visa as well as experience of managing projects which involve multiple agencies.

The roles will sit in the GLA’s Social Integration team which works to tackle inequalities, support Londoners to play an active part in their communities and create opportunities for people to connect with each other positively and meaningfully.

At present GLA staff are working largely from home, with office space available at our offices based at City Hall, More London. Over the coming months, we will moving to hybrid working, linked to our relocation programme. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.  

 

The Mayor has announced that City Hall will be relocating from More London (London Bridge). Further information on the relocation announcement, can be found here. This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL) from September 2021, and will involve a mix of remote and office based working.
