Project Manager – Sport Unites (Community Sport)

‘Sport Unites’ is the Mayor's new, multi-million-pound flagship community sports programme. ‘Sport Unites’ aims to harness the power of sport to achieve the Mayor’s ambition of making London the most active and socially integrated city in the world.

The programme will invest in initiatives that use sport to bring people from different backgrounds together, strengthen local communities and improve the physical and mental health of all Londoners.

‘Sport Unites’ is a complex programme that will be delivered with and through a variety of organisations ranging from high-profile funding partners to small grassroots community organisations.

The GLA is looking to recruit two experienced project managers to work as part of the team delivering the ‘Sport Unites’ Programme.

Candidates are required to demonstrate a track record of successfully managing multi-stakeholder programmes, including knowledge and experience of contract management, performance management and managing stakeholder relationships. A demonstrable understanding of the community sport landscape in London is also required as well as knowledge of sport for social change initiatives locally, nationally and internationally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, as well as working closely with teams across the GLA to ensure that the ‘Sport Unites’ programme aligns with and complements the Mayor’s work and commitments in other policy areas.

This is a 2 year fixed term or secondment opportunity.
