Community Relations Manager

You’ll work collaboratively with local people and businesses, develop innovative ways to spread the word and share the stories that the Royal Docks has to tell. You’ll also help us to attract interest and visitors to this exciting part of London.

The opportunity

We’re putting local residents and businesses at the heart of all our plans – you’ll make sure they are active participants and beneficiaries of the area’s transformation. Everything you do will be focused on building a cohesive and empowered community in the Royal Docks. The public face of community engagement, you’ll design and deliver a high-quality strategy that ensures local residents and businesses have a real voice in policy and programme development. From identifying local partnership opportunities, to creating sustainable initiatives, you’ll develop a community relations function that is a hub of best practice and innovation.

The person

You’ll need a successful track-record of leading community engagement strategies and programmes in a political environment.  This will be built on an understanding of London’s diverse communities and knowledge of best practice in community engagement. You must be capable of producing and presenting written reports and briefings on complex and sensitive issues. Focused on continuous learning and development, you’ll be ready to lead a small team and to exert influence at senior levels.  Skills in relationship building, partnership working and communication are at the heart of this role.
