Policy Support Officer (Social Integration)

We are looking for a Policy Support Officer to join the GLA’s Social Integration Team in the Communities and Social Policy Unit.

Social integration is one of the Mayor’s top priorities. He also describes it as one of the 21st Century’s greatest challenges.

Our Team recently launched the Mayor’s Strategy for Social Integration, which sets out how City Hall will help Londoners to have more opportunities to connect with each other positively and meaningfully. It will support Londoners to play an active part in their communities and the decisions that affect them. It involves reducing barriers and inequalities, so that people can relate to each other as equals. The Policy Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting the coordination and administration of our flagship social integration projects and initiatives. You will support and facilitate the work of our busy new team, including event logistics, meeting coordination, reporting mechanisms, and internal and external communications.

The ideal candidate will be deeply concerned with relationships, participation and equality. They will have experience of successfully managing and delivering an administrative support function, good communication skills, and a can-do attitude.

The role is fixed-term, through to the end of July 2019.
