Euro 2020 City Volunteer Recruitment and Training Manager

London has been selected as one of 12 host cities for the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship (EURO 2020), with Wembley Stadium as the host venue.

Wembley will stage three Group Stage fixtures, one Round of 16 match, both Semi-Finals and the tournament Final. The bid was a collaborative effort involving the Mayor of London, The FA and HM Government. Delivery of the event will be coordinated by a multi-agency Local Organising Structure (LOS).

With direction and oversight provided by the LOS, the Greater London Authority (GLA) is responsible for delivering a variety of tournament related activities, including fan areas, city-dressing and community engagement programmes. In partnership with relevant city agencies, the GLA is also responsible for coordinating the city’s policing and transport plans for the tournament.

The GLA is seeking to recruit an experienced team member to fulfil the role of Volunteer Recruitment & Training Manager for the Host City Volunteering Programme. This programme will deploy around 2,000 volunteers across London at transport hubs, tourist sites and Fan Zones to ensure Londoners and visitors have the best possible experience in London during the tournament. Showcasing London to spectators through its diverse population and unique culture, the volunteer programme for EURO 2020 is a fantastic opportunity to push the global volunteering movement to the next level.

We are looking for a team member to support the Volunteer programme as it enters its busy delivery phase. Candidates are required to demonstrate a track record of working on high profile projects, as well as experience of the volunteering project area of major events. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering training for the Host City Volunteering programme and overseeing the effective deployment and management of large numbers of volunteers on behalf of Team London.
