The GLA is looking to recruit a Board Secretary to manage the provision of secretariat and clerking support to the full range of mayoral boards supported by the Committee Services Team and to act as Board Secretary to the London Economic Action Partnership (the London Local Enterprise Partnership Board).
You will need: a proven track record of success in managing staff and managing formal meetings involving the decision-making processes in a high profile, complex organisation; the ability to interpret and apply legislation; substantial knowledge of relevant policy areas and partner organisations; an awareness of and an interest in current affairs; good communication and writing skills; excellent organisational skills including the ability to consistently meet demanding deadlines in a pressurised environment.
You must also be able to manage relationships between senior staff across the GLA Group as well as mayoral appointees and high profile external board members with tact and diplomacy, and have a firm grasp of the use and application of IT systems, ideally including committee management software.
You would be working in the team at City Hall which provides clerking support to the Mayor of London, Transport for London, London Legacy Development Corporation and Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation, London Economic Action Partnership and London Assembly.
