Business Consultant

Be part of London’s tech and digital transformation.

London has an enviable reputation. It is dynamic, diverse and forward-thinking. Led by the Mayor of London and the London Assembly, the Greater London Authority (GLA) is at the heart of transforming London into the best capital city in the world. This transformation is underpinned by a busy programme of technology and digital projects. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager (Business Consultant) at the GLA’s Technology Group to help deliver this ambitious programme. We call these roles Business Consultants because we want individuals who can form and manage strong relationships, carry out business analysis functions as well as manage and deliver projects.

As a Business Consultant in the Technology Group’s Programme and Projects Team, you will have sole responsibility for managing a set of technical and/or digital projects, including matrix managing suppliers and internal staff. You will have a proven track record of delivering digital projects with strong experience of Agile methodologies. You may also have a history of managing and delivering infrastructure projects such as implementing Cloud services, migrating data centres, wired and wireless networks etc. As well as your experience of Agile for delivering digital products and services, you may also have a qualification in infrastructure project management such as Prince 2, ITIL or equivalent.

Your project management skills will be supplemented by experience of gathering requirements, investigating and presenting solutions and working with stakeholders to build requirements, product backlogs and proposals. Above all, you will need the resilience to work flexibly to deliver outcomes in a fast-moving environment with the communication skills to negotiate for scarce technical resources and build relationships within and outside the organisation that last beyond a project.
