Community Engagement Officer

With thousands of new homes and jobs in the pipeline, local residents and businesses are at the heart of all our plans. Join us to develop what we believe is one of the most forward-thinking approaches to marketing, communications and engagement in the industry. You’ll work collaboratively with local people and businesses, develop innovative ways to spread the word and share the stories that the Royal Docks has to tell. You’ll also help us to attract interest and visitors to this exciting part of London.

The opportunity

We’re putting local residents and businesses at the heart of all our plans – you’ll make sure they are active participants and beneficiaries of the area’s transformation.  Working closely with the Royal Docks Community Relations Manager and wider partners, you’ll help to design, deliver and co-ordinate an ambitious programme of consultation and engagement activity. It starts with research and intelligence to find out what matters to our diverse local communities, including those that are harder to reach. You’ll then work in collaboration to deliver a joined-up programme of engagement activity.

The person

You’re committed to ensuring communities have a real voice in policy and programme development and delivery. To succeed, you’ll need a successful track-record of developing, delivering and evaluating community engagement activities in a political environment.  This will be built on an understanding of London’s diverse communities and knowledge of best practice. Skills in relationship building, networking and communication are at the heart of this role.
