Economist– Appraisal & Evaluation

GLA Economics’ analysis and advice informs key investment decisions at the Greater London Authority (GLA).  The GLA requires high quality economic analysis and advice to ensure that the strategies we develop and the projects we deliver are based on sound evidence.

This is a varied and interesting role supporting policy teams across the GLA with the economic appraisal, monitoring and evaluation of their projects and programmes. You will help to assess bids from external stakeholders for GLA funds, contribute to the development of business cases, and support colleagues to test whether their projects and programmes offered value for money.

You will have a professional qualification in Economics, or a related subject, and ideally have experience of economic appraisal and evaluation techniques using central Government guidance. You will also be familiar with ONS datasets and have experience in quantitative and qualitative research techniques. The successful candidate should be confident working with a wide array of people and teams.
