The Committee Services team in the GLA has a vacancy for a Committee Officer supporting the work of the London Assembly and its committees. You will work in a team that provides key clerking support across the GLA Group to the London Assembly, Mayoral bodies, Transport for London, London Legacy Development Corporation and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation; it is a dynamic working environment with a great deal of scope for professional development.

You will need: a proven track record of success in managing formal Committee meetings involving the decision-making processes in a political organisation; the ability to interpret and apply legislation; awareness of and an interest in current affairs; good communication and writing skills; excellent organisational skills; the ability to consistently meet demanding deadlines in a pressurised environment; and the ability to work effectively in a complex, political and high-profile organisation.

You must also be able to manage the interface between officers and elected representatives with tact and diplomacy, and have a firm grasp of the use and application of IT systems, ideally including committee management software.
