Research. Investigate. Question. Make London a better place to live.
We are looking for two Research Support Officers in the Labour Group. Working as part of a small team, you would be providing support to the Labour Group covering one of two briefs – Housing & Regeneration or Environment & Education.
Whether drafting a question for submission to London’s Mayor, drafting a report or a briefing, Members will look to you for advice and information. Looking into emerging trends and issues facing London, you’ll provide core research and policy briefings and provide high quality advice and support to Members. You will provide support to the Assembly Members in drafting questions and motions, keeping them abreast of developments in their policy area, advising them on their scrutiny work and producing policy and constituency reports to publication standard. Working with the senior press officer, you will provide pro-active public affairs support for your policy areas and you’ll represent professional views and interests to a wide range of people both within and external to the organisation.
With proven experience of providing direct support to influential, high profile people, you’re used to dealing with confidential and sensitive issues and documents within a pressurised environment. Excellent organisational, research, analytical and problem solving skills will be crucial to your success. Collaborative and diplomatic, you’ll bring to the role a demonstrable flair for communicating and influencing both in person and in writing.

We’re focused on making London an outstanding world city with a safe and sustainable environment. Join our committed team, and help make London a better place for all its communities.
