Research and Statistical Analyst - Census

The Census team provides analysis and expertise on census and population data for teams across the Greater London Authority and wider stakeholders in London. Over the next two years we’ll be preparing for the 2021 Census and subsequent release of data in 2022. Working closely with London Boroughs and wider GLA organisations such as TfL and the London Development Corporations we’ll establish customers’ requirements for data, analysis and training and prepare our systems to deliver them.

We’ll continue to provide analysis and briefing from 2011 census and other sources of population and related data. You will evaluate alternative sources of census-type data, and support the work of London’s Strategic Migration Partnership.

You’ll need experience of conducting analysis with large complicated datasets, be confident in preparing and presenting findings to both expert and non-specialist customers, and be able to demonstrate knowledge of current developments in population statistics.

The team sits within the GLA’s City Intelligence Unit, a multidisciplinary team of statisticians, economists and data scientists who provide data driven analysis and advice to inform policy and delivery across London.
