Regional Lead – (London Enterprise Adviser Network)

Could you lead the London Enterprise Adviser Network team to expand the network to all secondary schools and Further Education (FE) colleges by August 2020?

The Greater London Authority (GLA) is seeking a London Regional Lead to manage a small but dynamic team of Network Leads who are responsible for supporting the roll out of the London Enterprise Adviser Network (LEAN).

The LEAN is part of a national network of business volunteers (Enterprise Advisers), secondary schools and FE colleges supported by the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC), the national provider.

You’ll be joining the LEAN at an exciting and busy delivery period, overseeing the expansion and project management of the LEAN to all boroughs, secondary schools and FE colleges in London. Supported by the GLA Network Lead team, you’ll provide programme management to the LEAN and will be responsible for ensuring that the programme activity supports skills and careers education Mayoral commitments. This will include supporting the transition of programme delivery in-house to external delivery partners, as well as working alongside the wider national CEC team based at Head office, London-Farringdon. Experience of large scale volunteer management, ideally with corporate volunteers, is desirable for this role.

Leading the expansion, implementation and operation of an externally delivered Enterprise Adviser Network (EAN), you’ll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of a high-profile Mayoral careers education programme. This will entail building and maintaining strong working relationships with other GLA teams: Skills and Employment, Education & Youth; London’s Local Economic Partnership and other LEPs, central government departments, public and private sector delivery partners, the Careers & Enterprise Company, London Boroughs and other key stakeholders including corporates. The successful candidate will need to evidence experience of working with a wide range of senior stakeholders in education, private and public sector.

Along with demonstrable experience and a track record of managing people and knowledge of formal programme and project management processes, you will have a good understanding of the political context of London which should include a familiarity with education and skills. In addition, you will have extensive experience of contract management and performance management, controlling budgets, tracking of deliverables and outcomes and the production and coordination of governance, approval and management information to support reporting both internally and to central government through the CEC.

We’re looking for a proactive, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who will communicate effectively, at all levels, with a wide range of stakeholders, both verbally and by way of written reports.

This role is based between City Hall and the national CEC Head office, based in Farringdon. The London Regional Lead will be joining a team of Regional Leads therefore in line with the national team it will be compulsory to work from the CEC offices every Monday.
